Current role

Tom is a senior partner in Rural Development Services (RDS) – a leading rural professional services firm.

Tom is responsible for the following areas within RDS:

• Agri-food and aquaculture project leadership
• Business development
• Information and communication technology

A key motivator for Tom is his commitment to sustainable competitive development of Australian organisations through successful uptake outputs from innovative, practical and high quality R&D projects.

The Australian rural environment is moving rapidly towards the requirement for all development to be underpinned by sustainable practices. Tom’s strategic role is to position RDS to inform and enhance rural and regional organisational capacity in this area.

Experience

Tom has over 20 years experience in consulting, commercial and academic organisations within the food safety and agri-food sectors. Key responsibilities have ranged from technical design and development to organisational management and strategy.

Tom also serves on a number of professional bodies within his Tasmanian and national communities.
