Agronomist and irrigation consultant

Current role

Sue is a Project Manager and consultant in Rural Development Services (RDS).

Sue is responsible for the following areas within RDS:

  • Management of the project “Sustainable water management on Tasmanian vegetable farms”, and
  • Consulting services on agronomy and water management on-farm.

Experience

Sue has worked as an Agronomist for 25 years. She has been a consultant for the past 10 years. Sue’s recent consulting work has involved crop management and agronomy on a range of crops and pastures, irrigation scheduling and crop water use, and crop feasibility assessments. Sue has also been involved in research and development. Sue was responsible for a large part of the course delivery and the mentoring for the pilot irrigation training course in 2000. She was involved in the development and presentation of the Wise Watering Irrigation Course in 2001. Sue is passionate about resource economics, particularly sustainable water use in our agricultural industries.
