Project Officer

Current role

Ray is a project officer in Rural Development Services (RDS).

Ray is responsible for the following areas within RDS:

  • delivery of technical services, project management and monitoring to a range of projects.
  • project coordinator, from inception to final reporting and evaluation.

The Australian rural environment is moving rapidly towards the requirement for all development to be underpinned by sustainable practices. A key motivator for Ray is enhancing effective communication of research and policy between rural industries and government to achieve sustainable development outcomes.

Experience

Ray has over 15 years experience within government and academic organisations, conducting natural resource management and planning and scientific research. Ray has provided briefing papers and planning advice to Tasmania’s regional NRM bodies and contributed to the development of national NRM resource condition indicators. Ray has extensive experience liaising with community and industry stakeholders and within all levels of government.
